Annotation | The sociodemographic profile and economic status of older people in Israel is delineated, and their social roles including participation in the workforce and voluntary activities described. Studies which have examined the burden of caring for older family members are reviewed. The implications of Westernisation on Israeli society in terms of family care are discussed. (RH). |
