'Care' in geriatric ward an account of two styles of nursing | Author(s) | Dorothy E Baker |
Journal title | IN: Nursing research: ten studies in patient care; edited by Jenifer Wilson-Barnett, 1983 |
Publisher | Wiley, Chichester, 1983 |

Keywords | Nursing. |
Annotation | Some of the factors which have influenced the development of geriatric nursing are identified. The case is made that the aspirations of nurse leaders concerning geriatric care are not the reality. The study reported here contrasts two divergent styles of geriatric nursing, and illustrates some of the difficulties encountered in any attempt to realise these aspirations. The point is made that nurse leaders take insufficient account of the wider issues which influence nursing. (OFFPRINT). (RH). |
