Annotation | Motion by Mr John Silkin with Amendment by Sir J Eden. Motion not carried. It was Resolved, "That this House, while recognising the importance of television to elderly people, reaffirms the policy pursued by successive Governments of increasing beenfits in cash rather than in kind; and welcomes the substantial increases for retirement pensioners that have been made since the General Election and the decision to implement an annual review of pensions".
