Annotation | In a group practice in Crawley, Sussex, it was thought that patients over the age of 65 did not receive the full nursing and social support needed to lead normal lives. The objectives of the survey were: to assess the extent of existing health and social care given to older people in the practice; to assess the resources and manpower providing existing health and social care; to assess the health and social needs of older people in the practice; and to assess resources and manpower necessary to meet the newly found established need.
