| Annotation | The establishment of an experimental scheme in the geriatric unit at Walsgrave hospital, Coventry, is outlined in this paper. In this scheme, a system of set duty hours for unqualified staff was implemented in order to improve the service to older patients. An analysis is made of the problems and difficulties of selecting suitable candidates, and how they are coping. (AKM). |
