Annotation | The Department of Employment has now accepted that groups working under supervision in open industry are superior to sheltered workshops in the management and retraining of the disabled. A scheme along these lines has been organised in Bristol for twelve years, and experience with the scheme suggests that, for former patients of mental hospitals, the approach is the right one. It is most acceptable to the patient and has the advantage of giving the patient the best chance of becoming self-sufficient. (OFFPRINT). (RH). |
