Pages | pp 159, 166-175 |

Annotation | An editorial and two articles, one of which is a follow-up to a paper by Kenneth Vickery at the Royal Society of Health Congress, at which he. argued that it is unkind to keep older people alive who no longer enjoy life and who had no hope of recovery. His article 'Post-retirement and later days' draws attention to the hazards of ageing for health and social services, and to the older person. He highlights the importance of planning for retirement, as does C A Boucher, who states that with more than 1000 men and women reaching retirement age in Great Britain, there is a need to ensure that they are well-prepared for retirement and the health problems that are likely to arise.
