Annotation | It is often assumed that moving into a residential home is something to be avoided at all costs. This book examines practice in all types of homes. Although there is no one correct way to run a home, is argued that intuition and casual practice are inadequate. Analysis and planning, and a basic agreement among workers on objectives, procedures and a general "culture" are fundamental to good practice. Consideration is given to meeting residents' material and physical needs and their rights, as well as to how staff deal with the organisation of daily living. (RH). |
