Annotation | This guidance on the Registered Homes Act 1984 was compiled by a working party from Bexley, Bromley, Croydon, Haringey, Kingston, Merton, Richmond, Surrey, Sutton local authorities, with Nigel Grindrod from Croydon as co-ordinating director. It covers: types of homes; client group identification; admission; staffing; physical standards of homes; financial implications; responsibilities of local authorities; statutory requirements of registration; procedure for registration; and appeals against decisions of the authority. The supplementary information is a compilation of relevant articles, suggested formats for brochures and contracts, and Homes Advice guide cards, as issued by the Centre for Policy on Ageing (CPA). The guidance is published for use by London boroughs' social service departments, and to make it available to prospective owners of homes so that they are aware of registrations officers' expectations. |
