Annotation | This report is based on research under the IMS Manpower Commentary Programme for the Department of Employment and the Training Agency. It examines employers' perceptions of older workers, the institutional barriers to employment, the future employment of older workers, and targeting older workers in recruitment procedures. Policy issues of a flexible decade of retirement, age discrimination legislation, equalising the male and female state pension ages, abolition of the pensions earnings rule, and jobstart for the over 50s are discussed. |
