Annotation	General practitioners (GPs) in an area part suburban and part semi-rural were asked for their views on the needs of older people, and of the uncatered for and undiscovered areas of need. This summary of the research outlines the available services, residential homes, care in the home, communications, and visiting older people in their homes. Results of the survey suggest that many GPs are very much aware of the difficulties of dealing with older people, but at the same time have ideas which could be implemented in dealing with needs and problems.
