Annotation | Based on the numbers of older people living at home in Newcastle upon Tyne in 1960 and 1964, this paper aimed to draw attention to the possibility of picking out those individuals likely to make the heaviest demands on hospital services. The results suggest that a useful prediction can be made from examination of mental status alone, although physical health and domestic situation need to be taken into account, too. (RH). |
