AnnotationA few principles and concepts of medical and social care for old people are discussed, as well as some practical implementations. Examples of services and provisions already in existence are given. Attention is paid successively to promotion of health, primary and secondary prevention, curative care, and rehabilitation and aftercare. The need for much more research and for international co-operation in attempting to solve many old-age problems is emphasised. (RH).
