AnnotationThe care of older people in psychiatric hospitals has proved to be an issue of continuing national concern. This chapter reports on projects carried out in a psychogeriatric ward at Fulbourn Hospital, Cambridgeshire. Use of nursing staff time was analysed, to reassess work priorities. Patient assessments were carried out, looking at their physical, mental and social abilities in relation to the life they led on the ward. Changes made as a result acted as a catalyst to further changes in the wider psycho-geriatric service. (OFFPRINT). (RH).
