Annotation | Continuing care communities have many attractions for some older Americans and Germans, because of the unobtrusive way in which they meet the changing needs of older people without their having to move from their familiar surroundings. This feasibility study commissioned by a charitable trust considers whether the concept of continuing care might be translated into a British context, based on experiences in the US and Germany. Ultimately, the question of viability hinges on whether older people would choose a lifestyle that separates them from their own and other age groups. (RH). |
