Annotation | This paper examines differences in the age structure of the 1980s as compared with that of the 1970s in Israel, so as to anticipate whether certain services should prepare to absorb greater demand and others should expect a slump, as regards potential numbers needing services. After analysing developments in the population according to age groups, the significance of the different trends to services that focus on certain age groups - including services for older people, education, and health - are demonstrated.
