Annotation | The Personal Social Services Research Unit (PSSRU) at the University of Kent was commissioned by the Department of Health and Social Security (DHSS) to promote the Care in the Community initiative and to monitor and evaluate the pilot projects. This book describes the initiative and traces the early development of projects across England for: adults with learning difficulties (11), people with learning difficulties (8), older people who are physically frail (3), and elderly mental infirm (EMI - 4). It documents how these projects have met the challenge of the transition of resettlement of long-stay hospital residents to community care. (RH). |
