AnnotationOn 1 April 2017, the National Offender Management Service (NOMS) was replaced by a new executive agency, Her Majesty's Prison and Probation Service (HMPPS). This National Audit Office (NAO) report looks at the provision of mental healthcare in prison, and efforts to maintain prisoner well-being. The report covers commissioning mental healthcare in prisons; and delivering mental health and well-being services in prisons. It also considers continuity of care into the community, as well as key facts such as that 37% of the average monthly prison population reports having mental health or well-being issues.
