AnnotationThis two-day summit held in association with the Irish Presidency was jointly organised by the Irish Ageing Well Network and the Global Coalition on Ageing (www.gcoa.com). It was actively supported by the World Health Organization (WHO) Age Friendly Cities and Healthy Cities programmes and by EIP and five EU Directorate-Generals: Employment, SANCO, CONNECT, RTD and REGIO. The goals of the summit are: to develop Europe-wide leadership support for a new agenda on ageing; to show how population ageing, if properly planned, can be a stimulus for economic growth and inclusive development across the EU; and to forge a sustainable European network of thought leaders and influencers to contribute to tangible solutions for an age-friendly Europe. This is the outline programme with speaker biographies for the Summit. (RH).
