AnnotationThe Transitions in Later Life programme is based on the premise that transitions (e.g. retirement) provide an important opportunity to engage people in support and to ensure positive experiences in later life. This short report summarises the findings of an evaluation of seven pilot projects relating to the Transitions in Later Life programme. These group-based courses were aimed at building the resilience and emotional wellbeing of people aged 50 and over who are approaching retirement. An appendix in the detailed report, 'Evaluation of transitions in later life pilot projects' provides an overview of the projects which were undertaken by: Age and Opportunity; Beth Johnson Foundation, in partnership with Ageing Without Children; the Centre for Policy on Ageing (CPA); Manchester MIND; NHS Cheshire and Wirral Partnership Foundation Trust; Positive Ageing Associates; and the Workers Educational Association (WEA). (RH).
