Annotation | There is growing evidence of the impact of singing on well-being; and singing in a choir can create a a feeling of togetherness and belonging among people with young onset dementia (YOD) and their families and carers. An occupational therapist, and a singer and musician talk about their choir, the Harmony Choir, which was established in West Berkshire by the charity YPWD (Berkshire) in 2012. Activities include warm-up exercises and learning new songs at the weekly rehearsals, and the chances to perform in public, share experiences with others, and to have some fun. (RH). |
