Annotation | Pre-assessment counselling is helping to minimise anxiety surrounding the diagnostic process. The author and colleagues discuss findings from their Early Intervention Dementia Service (EIDS), which was set up in 2010 to provide timely assessment, diagnosis and post-diagnosis support to people with dementia in Worcestershire. The service aims to facilitate choice, control and adjustment through person- and family-centred care that is tailored to meet individual needs. (RH). |
