AnnotationThe Ageing of British Gerontology Project (2015-17) is an oral and socio-cultural history of the evolution of this inter- and multidisciplinary field of study. Using filmed interviews, the Project's Research Team (Miriam Bernard, Mo Ray and Jackie Reynolds) has aimed to gain insights from 50 people who have been active in building the gerontological knowledge base since the establishment of the British Society of Gerontology (BSG) in 1971. Professional photographer and gerontologist Sukey Parnell has taken portrait photographs of the participants for this publication, which have also been displayed at the Ageing of British Gerontology Exhibition, which was launched at the 46th Annual Conference of the British Society of Gerontology (BSG), hosted by Swansea University, 5-7 July 2017. The Project was funded by the Leverhulme Trust, and supported by BSG and the Centre for Policy on Ageing (CPA). (RH).
