Annotation | The Chautauqua movement in the United States, first established in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, was an adult education movement that brought education and culture to the whole community with speakers, teachers and other specialists of the day. This social movement proved to be the perfect model for the annual Age of Disruption Tour, part-sponsored by the AARP. This article discusses the original Chautauqua and presents a summary of successful efforts to build a new American Chautauqua that is designed to disrupt ageing. (JL). |
