Annotation | Papers in this special issue of Research on Aging were first presented at the conference, Social Insurance and Lifecycle Events among Older Americans (held on 7 December 2014), which was sponsored by the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP). They are organised into three themes: career and job pattern; changes in family structure; and health limitations. Contributors considered the interrelationships between the three themes, the responsiveness of current policies and initiatives, and new policy approaches for a changing demographic, political and economic environment.
