AnnotationThe European Community declared 2012 as the Year of Active Ageing. This report outlines common concerns identified by the Baltic Sea Region countries, that: formal barriers to employing older people must be removed; labour market conditions need reform; negative attitudes need to be changed; and women exit work earlier, but why? Denmark, Germany, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland and Sweden make their own recommendations for forming national senior policies. A 17-point programme for sustained employability for best agers themselves, for employers and at the society level, is outlined. A leaflet outlining Best Agers and Best Agers Lighthouse accompanies this report. (RH).
