Annotation | Sandwich generation carers are those people, predominantly women (84% is given), who provide unpaid care for an older person while, at the same time, looking after one or more dependent children. This rapid review of the literature looks at carers, in particular older and sandwich generation carers. It presents evidence (including official statistics) to examine the effects of caring on health, mortality, personal finances and relationships, but particularly the impact of caring on employment.
