Annotation | This article describes the development of an awareness campaign aiming to improve perceptions about ageing and older people in Lisbon, Portugal. This involved the presentation of positive images of ageing through the use of street posters and social networks (eg Facebook). An important feature of the campaign was the collaboration of various stakeholders from different fields and with different societal roles. This diversity of contributions and perspectives on ageing allowed the creation of an awareness campaign that gathered consensus among several social agents. Generally the campaign received positive comments and reactions in the social networks. Congratulatory and other favourable messages came from individuals of different ages and occupations, from researchers to professional caregivers. (JL). |
