AnnotationThe majority of malnutrition occurs in the community; older people are at particular risk and much of malnutrition is preventable. This report is based on discussions at a workshop held on 21st March 2006 at the House of Lords and a follow-up consultation. It concludes that malnutrition must be incorporated into the public health agenda, and that an inter-sectoral approach is required for detecting, treating and preventing malnutrition in older people in the community.
