Annotation | Most adults expect to be able to exercise their right to vote in elections, but for people with dementia in a care home, things are seldom so simple. The authors report on an election campaign with a difference, which was run by the Orders of St John Care Trust (OSJCT) in partnership with the Electoral Commission that ensured that all their residents were able to register and vote in the General Election in May 2015. That residents felt engaged with a subject that matters to them also led to reminiscence work, as well as helping them to express their views. (RH). |
