AnnotationFrom January 2013 to March 2015, the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) funded the National Institute for Adult Continuing Education (NIACE) to undertake a pilot project on Mid Life Career Review (MLCR). The aim was to explore the demand for a career review among employed and unemployed adults aged 45-65, and to investigate the costs and benefits of such a service. The project involved 18 partners and the target was to work with 2,500 individuals to test and evaluate different mid-life career models, and to development resources to support the process. This report considers unionlearn's role in the project, and is based on a qualitative and formative process underpinning the unionlearn pilot activities. It aims to describe the unionlearn model, to identify the project's challenges and successes, to highlight examples and case studies of effective practice, and to outline the way forward. (RH).
