AnnotationThe author was diagnosed with fronto-temporal dementia in 2013, which caused him to have to retire from work. He points to key appointments with general practitioner (GP) and at a memory clinic, leading to the diagnosis. He describes how he is constantly having to find coping mechanisms to deal with difficulties as he experiences them, in writing, reading, routines, conversations, and handling emotions. He also comments how important it is to listen to patients correctly, so that more of them can be helped to live well with dementia. (RH).
