Annotation | This article gives an overview of information technology use among the 65+ population in Germany including comparisons with the UK. The author presents statistics from the Interactive Software Federation of Europe on technology use in both countries, followed by population projections to 2035, which are shown to be high. With this in mind, the use of technologies such as the Internet, digital games and PCs will become more valuable for continuing and maintaining quality of life and wellbeing. Digital gaming statistics have shown that older adults at present do play a variety of games and use computers and the Internet daily. (JL). |
