Annotation | The number of older entrepreneurs has risen significantly in recent years, in both the UK and US. These statistics are challenging stereotypes about entrepreneurs predominantly being young. On the contrary, older age has been shown to correlate with more successful entrepreneurs up to the age of 40, with people older than 55 almost twice as likely to found successful companies as those between 20 and 34. One possible reason is that older entrepreneurs have a combination of good project completion skills with real world experience, enabling them to identify more realistic business opportunities.
