Annotation | This short article describes a project aimed at improving relationships between older patients and visiting family members in an Israeli care home. Its goal was to identify ways and means for staff to fulfil the role of liaison between the patient and his or her family. The aim of the project was to both improve the said relationship and improve the sense of empowerment and satisfaction among staff members who performed arduous tasks day after day. The positive outcomes enhanced the welfare of the patients and the satisfaction of the families. The project serves as an example of a win-win situation for all who participated: families, patients and staff. (JL). |
