AnnotationHaving written a self-help manual, 'You're worried you might have Alzheimer's: what you can do about it' ((Beeswing Publications, 2013), the author CONSIDERS the literature available for older people who are worried about experiencing memory difficulties and/or who may have early stage dementia. He looks at the popular literature for people as sufferers or relatives; writing for older people with early stage dementia; what a book about memory difficulties in later life should look like; and what the content should be of a self-help manual for older people with memory difficulties. Essential to the compilation of such self-help is the value placed on eliciting comments from relatives and sufferers on topics such as setting up and maintaining a mutual support system, and interactions with professionals.
