Annotation | Several studies in recent years have indicated that worldwide prevalence rates for dementia may be decreasing, largely due to improved healthcare. Although this is good news, it should be viewed with caution as the predicted future numbers of dementia wordwide are already large and are set to grow considerably. Dementia will still be a huge challenge for health and social care systems globally. (JL). |
