Annotation | The authors describe the wide range of interventions to drastically improve care for people with dementia at New Cross Hospital in Wolverhampton. They use six real-life case studies to explain what good care means, for example, in avoiding distress, preparing for end of life care, assessing pain, checking medication carefully, and helping with eating and drinking. They also look at the effectiveness of the Dementia and Physical Illness ward and the impact of interventions developed, also key findings from the first year of the project. (RH). |
