AnnotationThere are 152,000 strokes in the UK every year. 'Feeling overwhelmed' is the third report in the Stroke Association's Life After Stroke campaign series. It is based on more than 2,700 responses to a survey of people affected by stroke, and highlights the emotional impact of stroke on survivors, their carers and families. The report includes nine case studies which demonstrate that emotional support after stroke is as important as the treatment and rehabilitation received in hospital. Data tables from the survey are available online (at (stroke.org.uk/feeling-overwhelmed). (RH).
