Annotation | In Norway, it is estimated that some 71,000 people have dementia. In Oslo, a unique demonstration facility shows how good design and assistive technology can be integrated into a home to meet the needs of people with dementia. This article describes the resulting visitors' centre, Alma's House, and the incorporates aids, alarms and other innovations incorporated. The centre is aimed at people with dementia and their family carers, health professional and service providers, and administrators, planners and politicians. (RH). |
