Annotation | A trained voice movement therapy practitioner who works with older people with and without dementia, and uses singing and guitar accompaniment, describes her work in care homes across West Sussex and Hampshire. Her article focuses on how she listens to and engages with people with dementia, by using her ears, eyes and intuitive skills. She gives them her undivided attention despite this making her vulnerable to rejection. Using case examples, she discusses what she has learned through her work, using case examples. (RH) |
