Annotation | The authors investigated what evidence existed for the effectiveness of psychological therapy for older people, and also hypothesised that older people also benefited from such therapy. The Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews was searched for reviews published between 1998 and 2009, and 14 reviews were found, most of which demonstrated the effectiveness of psychological therapy. The authors also discussed the availability of information on what outcome measures were most used and accepted for use within the older adult population, and most useful in evaluating psychology work.
