Annotation | The author describes how one hospital ward was transformed by involvement in the King's Fund's Enhancing the Healing Environment (EHE) programme. Riverside is an 18-bed older people's mental health assessment ward, which is part of Derbyshire Community Health Services NHS Trust. Among changes made to the ward's environment was an increase in the use of art and design, which has had positive outcomes, not only for patients, but also for family carers and ward staff. (RH) |
