Annotation | Changing public perceptions of dementia is at the heart of an ambitious campaign in Germany, known as Konfetti im Kopf (Confetti in the Head), which is heading for Hamburg in 2013. There are some 1.2 million people living with dementia in Germany. The campaign described uses films, photography, interactive workshops and improvised theatre to challenge public perceptions of dementia and to counteract stigma and negative views. The author reports on the positive aspects of this approach. (RH). |
