Annotation | This article is based on data obtained from an investigation of the needs of older people living in the suburbs of Katutura, Windhoek, Namibia. The theoretical framework utilized in this study is Manfred Max-Neef's human scale development approach. Primary data were collected by face-to-face interviews with 383 older men and women living Katutura. It was found that many of their subsistence and protection needs are not being met; and that although older people are increasing in number, they continue to be a forgotten population. (RH). |
