Annotation | Although trust is a word that is used in everyday language, it is also to be found in the professional codes of practice that underpin the care given to an individual in any health or social care environment. For care workers, trust is about the therapeutic relationship which demonstrates compassion, dignity, and respect for a person needing care. The author considers the "journey of trust" from the perspectives of the person living with dementia, the nurses and carers on whom that person becomes more dependent during the "losing phases", and the family who are also reliant on trust.
