Annotation | 'Dying to know' is an intergenerational drama about the difficulties and benefits of talking about the end of life. It tells the story of a family trying to come to terms with the imminent death of a much-loved and close relative. The film is based on a play commissioned by the Earl Mountbatten Hospice on the Isle of Wight and written by Helen Reading, Director of the Isle of Wight Red TIE theatre company. The script was adapted by Dying Matters and pFlix Films to further promote the importance of end of life discussions. Dying Matters is a national coalition led by the National Council for Palliative Care (NCPC), which aims to ask such questions and to change public knowledge, attitudes and behaviours towards death, dying and bereavement (see www.dyingmatters.org).
