Annotation | A mixed methods service-based study explored the views of relatives and carers regarding a support group that was offered by an older adult inpatient ward. The study aimed to elicit feedback from relative and carers about what they would hope to gain from a group, for example, emotional support, information about dementia, or coping skills. A focus group of four people representing three patients considered four themes: communication, the emotional experiences of relatives and carers, patients' needs, and staff practices on the ward.
