Annotation | This report is based on the findings of a 2-year project funded by the Department of Health (DH), which focused on the quality of care for dying people and their carers in residential and nursing homes. It includes: case studies of deaths in four homes; the involvement of other professionals in caring for dying residents; and factors which influence the quality of terminal care. It makes the case for residential and nursing homes adopting the principles and practices of palliative care. (RH). |
