Annotation | This short commentary looks at the effectiveness of physical exercise for older people with mild cognitive impairment (MCI) who may be at risk of developing dementia. Preliminary evidence has identified potential neuro-protective effects of physical activity, which may lead to improved outcomes. However, there is uncertainty regarding the effectiveness, feasibility and acceptability of this treatment strategy. These uncertainties require further investigation before physical activity interventions can be recommended for routine care. (JL). |
